Funghi diseases

Anthracnosis

Characteristics:
This disease is caused by the parasite fungus Elsinoe ampelina. This fungus develops and gives rise to an infection process in very humid conditions.

Symptoms:
Mainly attacks the green parts of the plant, leaves, buds and young shoots, leading to a reduction in their development, their weakening and a loss of production. On leaves, it causes the formation of small dark marks, mainly near nerves, and gradually drying out. On green stems, tendrils, little leaves and the bunch rachis, it leads to the formation of deep cancers, of a lengthened form, and blackish in colour. It causes depressed marks to form on the grapes, that are grey at the centre and darker at the edges. These grapes will not mature, but rather tend to dry out, with a consequent loss of production.
