Funghi diseases
Peacock blotch
Characteristics:
This is the most serious fungus enemy of the olive, and in addition to striking the leaves, it can also affect the branches and fruits. The disease can develop in the spring, with low temperatures (3-5°C) and high humidity.
Symptoms:
Grey-reddish marks measuring approximately 1 cm diameter on the upper side of the leaves. During the summer, a yellow haze forms around the marks. The affected leaves tend to fall and as such, significant defoliation can be seen in serious attacks.
Defence:
Copper-based treatments must be applied in the autumn and spring.
