Psylla
Characteristics:
Small insects in colours that vary from yellow to brown, whose young forms colonise the tips of the branches, leaves, shoots and young fruits of the pear tree.
Symptoms:
Similar to those caused by the aphids, with plentiful production of nectar on which the sooty moulds develop.
Defence:
Intervention is needed with plentiful washing to eliminate the nectar produced. Following this, 2 or 3 treatments are necessary.
